The event is being organised, among others, by the “In Spe” association and Bolesław Chrobry Lower Secondary School No. 1 in Zgorzelec. The concert programme, which will take place on Thursday, 16 October, includes performances by the winners of this year’s district “Talenciarz 2014” competition and the “Talenciarz Gimnazjalista” talent festival. The event begins at 17:00. During the event, donations will be collected for the treatment and rehabilitation of sick children, particularly those battling cancer. Money from a special auction will also be allocated to this cause; invitations for a trip to the European Parliament will be available for bidding.

It is worth visiting us on this day! And on other days too :)

For example, from Monday through Wednesday inclusive, our Poza Nova cinema will be showing the music production “Road to Jah”, in which reggae stars Gentleman and Alborosie take viewers on a journey to Jamaica filled with energy and rhythms, showcasing the beauty and richness of Jamaican music and culture. Tickets cost PLN 11. Start time: 18:30.

And for the weekend and the beginning of the following week, Poza Nova cinema has something really special. From Friday through the following Wednesday, we will be showing Jerzy Hoffman’s new version of the excellent “The Deluge”, titled “Potop Redivivus”. This classic of Polish cinema has been thoroughly renewed, reconstructed, colourised and re-edited. As a result, the action is much more dynamic, and the whole film feels like an American blockbuster. Jerzy Hofmann himself was delighted with the new version. But please note: even after re-editing, “Potop Redivivus” runs for 3 hours and 10 minutes, so screenings will begin not at 18:30, as usual, but at 17:01. Ticket prices remain unchanged—weekend tickets cost PLN 14 and 12, and weekday tickets PLN 11.

Our cinema is working at full speed this week—in addition to the Thursday special screening for students of the Transborder University of the Third Age, there will be two special screenings on Friday, at 10:00 and 13:00, for children and young people as part of the New Horizons Film Education project.

We would also like to inform everyone interested about the next TUIIIW lectures. This week, they will be held on Wednesday from 14:30 to 16:00.

We also invite young people to afternoon classes. Their detailed schedule can be found on our website: www.mdk.zgorzelec.eu

We will also be pleased to welcome those who decide to visit our exhibitions—the MDK Gallery is hosting the photographic exhibition “The Warsaw Uprising on Its 70th Anniversary”, while the “Nadole” gallery presents Marian Lorek’s artworks under the collective title “Painted with Straw”.

We invite you.
