The District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec informs that, as part of the observance of International Mediation Day on Wednesday, 15 October, a mediator Agata Siniak will be on duty at the prosecutor’s office from 12:15 to 14:15, providing anyone interested with advice on mediation.
Mediation offers an opportunity for injured parties and people against whom criminal proceedings are being conducted to reconcile, as well as to ease conflicts that often underlie the proceedings.
Its positive outcomes may help satisfy injured parties’ claims more quickly, reconcile the perpetrator with the injured party, and bring ongoing criminal cases to a swift conclusion.
The authority to refer a case to mediation at the court-proceedings stage rests with the court, while during the preparatory proceedings it rests with the prosecutor.
