Let us recall: the incident took place on 27 August; we wrote about it, among other things, in the article Robert proved that he is a true firefighter-rescuer. That day, at around 6:00 p.m., Robert Dziubak was driving from Bolesławiec to Ruszów through Osiecznica. Just beyond Dobra, after exiting a bend onto a straight stretch, he came upon an unusual sight—a man lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the road, while several dozen metres farther on there was a damaged car and a motorcycle lying in a ditch.

It was clear that the man had been injured in a road accident that had occurred several dozen seconds earlier. As a result of a collision with a passenger car, the motorcyclist had lost his leg; the severed part was lying beside the car, and the amputation had caused massive bleeding.

The member of the Volunteer Fire Service in Ruszów (Węgliniec municipality, Zgorzelec County) immediately ran to his car for a first-aid kit and began stopping the hemorrhage. He used the injured person's belt to make a tourniquet around the thigh and began treating the massive wound.

During a session of the Węgliniec Municipal Council held on 30 September, the mayor and councillors thanked the member of OSP Ruszów. The local government representatives presented Robert Dziubak with a letter of congratulations and a gift.
