The event began at 11:00 a.m. on Złotoryjska Street. MPK put two of its buses on display. It was inside these buses that preschoolers and the youngest primary school pupils learned about safe and courteous behavior on public transport vehicles. Police officers and municipal guards also gave presentations for the youngest participants.

A pleasant highlight was the presentation of awards by Mayor Tadeusz Krzakowski to the winners of the art competition “Safe and Courteous Travel by Public Transport Bus,” which received 67 entries. The children, aged 5–13 and endowed with great imagination and talent, presented their visions of travel. The best entry was created by Artur Deryj. The two other awarded drawings, by Natalia Chudyk and Marcin Bojanowski, were equally interesting.

Members of the Young Medics’ Club operating at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Physical Culture of PWSZ im. Witelona w Legnicy actively participated in the event. They conducted first-aid demonstrations.

The European Mobility Week culminated in “Car-Free Day,” observed every year on September 22. On that day, drivers could leave their cars in parking lots and garages and take free public transport bus journeys by carrying their vehicle registration certificate and driving licence.
