The preschoolers took part in the “Clever Little Preschooler” quiz, assembled portraits of themselves from pieces, and played “The Magic Chest and Enchanted Ball” (they drew costumes hidden in the chest and put together funny outfits). They competed in “Bob the Builder” and “Wandering Balloon” games. The children also greatly enjoyed “Dance with a Broom,” “Twisting Dance,” and many other music-and-movement activities.
At the end of the celebration, every preschooler had to demonstrate the ability to go through a tunnel. As a reward for taking part in the group activities, each child received a “Preschooler’s Order,” a colorful balloon, and a sweet treat. The joy, laughter, enthusiastic cheering, and broad smiles on the children’s faces were also a source of satisfaction for the institution’s staff and an encouragement to celebrate this occasion even more grandly every year, providing the children with many pleasant experiences.
The resolution establishing September 20 as National Preschooler’s Day was adopted by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland on September 13, 2013. The initiator of the celebration was Children’s Ombudsman Marek Michalak. Preschooler’s Day is intended to emphasize the importance of preschool education in a child’s development and contribute to popularizing preschool education in public awareness. It is also a great opportunity for children from all preschool groups to play together and integrate.
