At the Polish Junior Championships (for 14-year-olds) held in Dębica in July, Ignacy Frydrychowicz and Mieszko Hudyka performed excellently. Improving their personal bests, they placed among the country’s leading 14-year-old swimmers.
During the summer, Jowita Malchar, a UKS coach and active masters competitor, was also hard at work. In her age category (30–34), she had no equal, winning the Polish championship and cup in the 3 km event. She took first place at competitions in Kiekrz, Sława, Chodzież and Poznań, as well as at the Open Wrocław Championships.
