Huge excitement, excellent results and an incredible atmosphere—that is how, in short, the performance of UKS Octopus Bolesławiec athletes at the 1st Lower Silesian Swimming Schools Championships 2026 in Wrocław can be summed up.

The young swimmers demonstrated not only a high sporting level, but above all tremendous commitment and sporting spirit as they competed against athletes from the entire region.

🏅 The medal haul is impressive:
🥇 7 gold medals
🥈 3 silver medals
🥉 7 bronze medals
🏅 10 places in the top six (awarded diplomas).

Top individual achievements

Special recognition goes to:

  • Emilia Wędzel – victory in the 25 m backstroke (22.77) in her debut,
  • Kacper Paul – two gold medals (50 m freestyle – 35.50 and 25 m butterfly – 17.86),
  • Maksymilian Scherner – two victories (50 m freestyle – 28.21 and 25 m butterfly – 14.08),
  • Milena Scherner – two gold medals (50 m freestyle – 37.72 and 50 m breaststroke – 49.00).

The following athletes also reached the podium:

  • Mikołaj Scherner (2x silver)
  • Krystyna Kotowicz (silver)
  • Hanna Mosiądz, Sebastian Oroń, Maria Szyptur, Piotr Banasiak, Antoni Kuczyński, Zofia Brakoniecka (bronze medals).

Many athletes finished just off the podium, in the top six, demonstrating the tremendous potential of the entire group.

Progress and development

The competition brought:

  • as many as 20 personal bests,
  • 30 debuts in various events (marked NT),
  • visible progress resulting from systematic work during training.
