The detention took place at the end of August near one of the parking areas along the A4 motorway. A patrol of Customs Service officers inspected a minibus carrying eight people. In one passenger’s bag, customs officers noticed marijuana wrapped in foil. They decided to search the luggage thoroughly.
The officers’ suspicions proved correct: hashish and amphetamine, also wrapped in foil, were hidden in a container of vegetable salad.
The luggage belonged to a 23-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County. The man was carrying a total of more than 90 g of hashish, nearly 34 g of amphetamine and 0.36 g of marijuana.
Procedural activities in the case were carried out by officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. The offender filed a motion to voluntarily submit to criminal liability. If the motion is approved by the court, the 23-year-old will receive a sentence of 10 months in prison suspended for one year. He will also have to pay a fine.
