This is a sign: SZLACHETNA PACZKA has begun recruiting volunteers. Finding genuine poverty requires more than good intentions. Volunteers—known as SuperW—are essential, and there are to be more than 10,000 of them in Poland.

A Paczka volunteer reaches people experiencing genuine poverty, entering places where others are indifferent or afraid to go. For many families, the volunteer’s visit itself is already a form of help: it restores their faith in people and shows them they are not alone.

– We find people in need in our own city, visit them in their homes and ask about their poverty. I cannot change the world on my own, but together with other SuperW volunteers, I know I can – says Ania, a volunteer from Kraków.

Report for service

– Volunteering with Paczka is a calling to serve other people and to go beyond our own limits for their sake, in order to change the world – says priest Jacek “Wiosna” Stryczek.

SuperW is a key figure in SZLACHETNA PACZKA: they go beyond their own limits to enter the world of poverty and help those who have already lost hope and faith that they can manage in life on their own.

It was thanks to volunteers that Krystyna regained faith in herself and found a job on the 8th floor of the Palace of Culture, Karol received a wheelchair that allowed him to see Kraków’s Main Market Square for the first time in many years, and Zbyszek now has someone to talk to!

Paczka truly brings people together

In 2013 alone, SZLACHETNA PACZKA reached 17,684 families in need—older people, people living alone, families affected by illness or disability, single parents and large families. In its 13th edition, Paczka united more than half a million people—those in need, volunteers, donors preparing aid and benefactors financing the project’s organisation—more than one and a half percent of Poland’s population!
