On Monday, the Legnica police duty officer was informed about a patient who had been admitted to hospital with stab wounds to the chest. The officers heard from the injured 27-year-old that he had been drinking alcohol at friends' apartment the previous day and did not remember the exact course of the drinking binge.

The police established who had taken part in the incident. It turned out that an argument had broken out during the drinking session between the victim and his 30-year-old acquaintance, who permanently resides in Germany. The latter—probably during a scuffle—stabbed the 27-year-old in the chest with scissors.

The attacker was detained and taken into police custody. He faces up to 5 years in prison.
