An optimist will say: the festival was excellently organized and interesting, with a huge number of attractions, most of them free. Crowds of tourists came to the festival and liked it here very much. And I had a wonderful time!

Colorful optimist

The optimist noticed beautiful stalls with heather and lavender decorations, Polish nalewkas and wines from Zielona Góra, excellent designs at stalls with bags, cushions, cats and other animals sewn from fabric, as well as beekeepers' stalls with honey and wax candles. The optimist also stopped at a stall with braids of garlic and tasty grapes, and at a stall fragrant with Provence, offering ceramic soaps—an attractive novelty among the ceramics stalls.

The optimist also admired the variety of the ceramics stalls: excellent designs, brilliant ideas for decorations and, of course, our beautiful ceramics made by local exhibitors. They filled the optimist, a local patriot, with pride.

An optimist with an artist's soul who needed more art could choose the 50 MPCR sculpture exhibition or one of the best ceramic exhibitions at the Museum on Kutuzowa Street, presenting a cross-section of ceramic artists' achievements over the 50 years of the plein-air event in Bolesławiec. At the municipal library, the optimist could admire paintings by Edward Szutter (they will remain at the library until the end of the month).

The musical optimist did not know which free concert to attend, so they flew from stage to stage and enjoyed Marika, Ewa Farna, Bracia, Loka, Tomek Wachnowski and a whole host of other concerts.

The optimist with children benefited the most. There was a children's town with pottery demonstrations, wheel-throwing workshops, and painting and stamping of bisque ware. There was the Clay Olympics, featuring a relay race, a run with a straw bale, timed mixing of clay plaster, a poetry and song competition, and demonstrations and workshops on applying plaster to straw. There was also an excellent concert by Fasolki and a fairy-tale performance by the Stilt Theatre.

The gray, pessimistic, poor opposition supporter

The pessimist left town to spend money elsewhere, because there is nothing in their hometown anyway, nothing happens and everyone leaves Bolesławiec, while the wind blows through empty streets as if in a ghost town.

The rich person had an amusement park at their disposal (oh, it was expensive), could buy a 36-person dinner service, choosing from hundreds of designs, or purchase several garden sculptures. And generally shop at those stalls to their heart's content! Many people surely dreamed of that. They could also certainly eat their fill at stalls offering meats, sausages, bigos and other delicacies—and not look at the bill. Besides, most of the entertainment was free.

The poor optimist brought a sandwich from home, bought a drink at a grocery store and enjoyed the free children's areas, concerts, parades and other attractions to their heart's content.

The poor pessimist stayed home because it was too expensive and not worth going into town. And the opposition supporter, hostile to the city's authorities, had their own Gliniada. Independent, wonderful, brilliant and absolutely perfect in every respect. Better than the ceramic parade and genuinely Bolesławiec's.

Optimists say thank you

As an optimist, I thank the organizers: the wonderful people devoted to the city at Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury-Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki, as well as everyone who became involved and supported the organization of the festival. Thank you for an excellently organized event with great promotional power, from which all residents benefit.

The 20th Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival is being carried out as part of the ARGINET project, co-financed by the European Union under the Culture programme. The organizer of the 20th Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival is Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury - Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki.
