The festival will last five days. Colorful booths have been set up in Bolesławiec’s Market Square. One hundred exhibitors from Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Lithuania will take part in one of Europe’s largest ceramic fairs. In the Market Square, from August 20 to 24, visitors will be able to purchase functional and decorative ceramics, as well as jewelry. Ceramic necklaces, cups and planters—each item is handcrafted.

We present a jingle (a short musical arrangement) promoting the anniversary ceramic festival, recorded by Agata Pińczuk-Burdzy, vocalist of Spirituals Singers Band and instructor at the BOK-MCC Song Studio (CIK Orzeł).

A great festival—with a variety of attractions

The official opening of the 20th Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival will be preceded by the spectacular “Ceramic Wave” Parade. The colorful procession will set off at 7:30 p.m. from Kościelna Street on Friday, August 22.

The parade will pass through the city streets to the large stage set up on Asnyka Street. Participants in the competition for the most interesting costume will take part in the parade. Wearing costumes they have prepared themselves and which refer to Bolesławiec ceramics, participants will compete for prizes worth more than PLN 6,000.

From August 22 to 24, a range of activities related to clay and a rich, attractive artistic program will take place. The Ceramic Animation Town will be created for families with children and clay-modelling enthusiasts, giving everyone the opportunity to try their hand at creating clay products and painting ceramic forms.

The workshops held by the Konopczyński family and the Olympiad of the Polish Association of Natural Building will offer plenty of fun, including a clay relay race and mixing clay plaster against the clock.

It is worth attending the pottery demonstrations by the Arkuszyński Workshop and the Historical Pottery workshop Loricamos. Potters dressed in medieval costumes will create ceramic vessels using tools from different eras and talk about historic techniques for making, glazing and firing vessels.

Masters of wheel throwing from Bassano del Grappa, Italy, will also showcase their craft. The Pottery Wheel Throwing Championships will be held, with professionals—ceramic artists and potters—taking part. In September, the winner will participate in the World Championships held in Faenza, Italy.

The anniversary Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival will feature special attractions: silent discos, street theaters, concerts on two stages, activities for children and smartphone games with T-Mobile. Popular Polish music performers Bracia, Marika, LOKA and Ewa Farna will perform on the main stage on Asnyka Street.

To ensure the safety of all concert attendees, the rules for the venue and mass event will apply. They will be posted at the concert site by the main stage (A. Asnyka Street).

Security during the event will be provided by IMPEL Security Polska Spółka z o.o., the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters and the Bolesławiec Municipal Police.

The 20th Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival is being held as part of the ARGINET project, co-financed by the European Union under the Culture program. The organizer of the 20th Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival is Bolesławiec Cultural Center—International Ceramics Center.
