Since 1983, the charity event “Rally of Hope” has been held in various German states. Its aim is to raise funds to combat cancer in children (genetic research in oncology, support for treatment, associations and families of sick children). The event was initiated thirty years ago by German doctor Fritz Lampert. According to sources, the rally, attended by well-known figures from the worlds of politics, business, culture and sport, has raised €30 million to date.
This year, the rally took place in Saxony and was attended by 185 participants. On 8 August, at the invitation of our German partner, the Polish team (comprising District Head Artur Bieliński, Deputy District Head Mariusz Tureniec, Secretary Bogusław Białoń and Plenipotentiary Piotr Pawlas) rode a special section from Goerltiz to Ostritz.
Funds raised during this year’s event will support, among other things, research and cancer treatment centres for children in Dresden, Bautzen, Goerlitz, Kassel and Wuerzburg.
