The theatre from Jelenia Góra is well known to Bolesławiec audiences, who saw three very well-received performances before the summer holidays. At their request, we have invited the theatre to Bolesławiec once again, this time with its latest productions.

On Saturday, 27 September, audiences can see a humorous performance based on the novel by Hugh Lofting, translated by Paweł Pawlik: "Doctor Dolittle’s Circus". The familiar story of Doctor John Dolittle, who can talk to animals, will be told using “black theatre”. Thanks to special ultraviolet light, actors invisible to the audience will bring puppets and objects to life as if by magic. The cast includes: Lidia Lisowicz, Dorota Fluder, Dorota Bąblińska-Korczycka, Jacek Maksimowicz, Sławomir Mozolewski, Sylwester Kuper, Radosław Biniek and Tadeusz Ksiądzyna.

On 25 October, we invite you to “The Royal Sparrow”, a performance written by Izumi Yoshida and directed by Waldemar Wolański. This adaptation of an old Japanese fairy tale offers an opportunity to discover the traditional Japanese puppet theatre known popularly as bunraku, which dates back to the 17th century. The puppets stand out not only for their extraordinary beauty, but above all because they are animated by three actors working in harmony. Animating puppets of this kind requires exceptional precision and craftsmanship.

In November, we will see “Just One Day”. The story’s protagonists are Fox and Boar, inhabitants of the forest. They have completely different natures, but one thing unites them: a weakness for certain flying creatures. Mayflies fascinate them with their delicacy and beauty, while also saddening them with their extremely short lives, lasting only one day. One day, a mayfly is born, unaware of its fate. Our protagonists fall in love with her at first sight but are unable to reveal the sad truth to this exceptionally beautiful and likeable little fly. To conceal the real reason for their heartache, they invent a lie that will completely change the fly’s short life. Just One Day” is a story about something that can give meaning to our days.
