The Stefanik School Had the Poorest Matura Results

The students of two Bolesławiec general secondary schools achieved the best matura results. The students of Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych also performed well. The results were worse at Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych and Zespół Szkół Budowlanych.

The matura exam went badly at Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych. At the bottom of the ranking was Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych, where as many as 62.07% of students failed the matura exam.

Alicja Krzyszczak, head of the county education department, says that the full results will not be available until the make-up examinations have ended. The department head emphasizes that the mathematics matura exam went terribly this year throughout Poland. In her opinion, this was influenced, among other things, by unfortunate wording of the test questions. “I will not comment on what went wrong at ZSHiU,” says Alicja Krzyszczak. “I would be pleased if the result were higher. For me, however, it is a success that the students completed technical school and took the matura exam. I am glad that students are choosing technical schools more often than vocational schools and are thereby securing a secondary education,” the department head adds.

Wiesław Stefanik, director of Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych, did not answer the phone today. We wanted to ask the director for his opinion on the examinations.

Is such a poor matura result the effect of the work of the teachers and the director?
