On the final day of the city festival, the photographic marathon organized by the “Camera” Photographic Association with the support of BOK-MCC aroused great excitement. The marathon was won by Michał Medyński, who received a cheque for 500 zlotys. The jury awarded five distinctions to: Agnieszka Karczmarz, Mariusz Ryż, Piotr Sadowski, Joanna Bruździńska and Marek Paszko.
The marathon was attended by 24 photography enthusiasts, who had to submit six photographs in six categories within six hours: a self-portrait without showing one’s own image, staged photography, one frame from an unrealized film, a beautiful photograph of something ugly—that is, between the sacred and the profane—sociological photography, and erotic tension.
The event was initiated by members of the “Camera” Photographic Association, who, with the support of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre, decided to revive the tradition of photographic competitions held in marathon format. This was not the first event of its kind in the city. A photographic marathon had previously been held in Bolesławiec, initiated by Jerzy Paluszczyszyn.
