Solo Agency invites you to an extraordinary recital by Edyta Geppert – based on a script and directed by Piotr Loretz. The concert will take place on June 26 (Thursday) in the Forum cinema auditorium at BOK-MCC (1c Piłsudskiego Square). It begins at 7:00 p.m.. Tickets can be purchased at the cinema box office.
Edyta Geppert’s recital is an excellent opportunity to experience her extraordinary interpretive artistry and her—now increasingly rare—ability to create sharply contrasting moods: lyrical songs set against dramatic ones, and dramatic songs against humorous, so-called cabaret songs, represented by the texts of the genre’s classic, Marian Hemar. It is a unique opportunity to experience emotions that only a select few artists endowed with true charisma can offer their audiences.
The artist is known for taking great care in assembling her repertoire. Her precisely directed recitals offer a rare opportunity to hear genuine gems of Polish literary song. Many songs from Edyta Geppert’s repertoire have stood the test of time and become evergreens. From these simple, melodic miniature musical and verbal forms, the artist draws out powerful emotions that spread to the audience.
Among the lyricists are Magda Czapińska, Agnieszka Osiecka, Jacek Cygan, Marek Dagnan, Jerzy Ficowski, Jonasz Kofta, Wojciech Młynarski, Andrzej Poniedzielski and Jan Kazimierz Siwek; the composers include Henryk Alber, Włodzimierz Korcz, Seweryn Krajewski and Andrzej Rybiński.
