The 50th International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium has been taking place in Bolesławiec since the beginning of June. The programme for the fifteen artists’ stay is very busy. In addition to their daily work at ceramic plants, the participants visited Książ Castle in Wałbrzych, where an exhibition of works by one of the symposium participants, Kazimierz Kalkowski, is on display.

This coming weekend, the artists will meet with the residents of Bolesławiec in the BOK-MCC conference room. On Saturday, 14 June, the following artists will present their work: Evelina Wojtowicz and Michał Puszczyński from Poland, Joan Poch I Catala from Spain, and Luce Raggi and Yuri Ragazzini from Italy.

The second meeting will take place the following day, Sunday, 15 June. The following artists will present their work: Kazimierz Kalkowski and Bogusław Dobrowolski from Poland, Ihor Kovalevych from Ukraine, and Siraj Saxena from India.

During the third and final presentation, on Wednesday, 18 June, as many as six Polish artists will appear: Piotr Nowak and five artists from Bolesławiec: Krystyna Gay-Kutschenreiter – an honorary participant in the symposium; Edyta Orlińska, who runs the ceramic and sculpture studio at BOK-MCC; Marta Kisiliczyk; and Mateusz Grobelny – the symposium commissioner, who runs his own studio at BOK-MCC. Ruta Sipalyte from Lithuania will also present her work.

In the coming days, they plan to visit the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec and meet Stanisław Borowski, a world-renowned glass artist working at the “Studio Borowski” Glassworks in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki.
