The International Volleyball Tournament featuring uniformed services took place on June 7 at the sports hall of Municipal School Complex No. 2. Teams from the municipal police forces of Wrocław, Legnica, Lubań, Trzebnica, Oława and Bolesławiec took part in the competition. The teams from Legnica and Trzebnica shared fifth place. In the match for third place, the team from Wrocław lost 1–2 to the team from Lubań. The final was contested by Bolesławiec and Oława. Our team defeated its opponents 2–0.
The tournament’s best female player was Justyna Rudzińska from Bolesławiec, while Tomasz Reczuch from Oława was named the best male player. The awards, cups and diplomas were presented by Bolesławiec secretary Jerzy Zieliński, deputy head of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Prefecture of the National Council of Municipal and Communal Police Commanders Krzysztof Zasieczny and director of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec Zbigniew Kowalczyk.
The volleyball excitement does not end here. June 8 (Sunday) at the MOSiR Water and Sports Centre (Spacerowa Street) will see the Euroregional Volleyball Picnic. It starts at 10:00. The programme includes:
- A beach volleyball tournament in women’s, men’s and mixed categories
- fitness competitions based on volleyball skills
- recreational competitions (“Robin Hood”, target serving, volleyball gladiator and foot volleyball)
- a serving-speed competition
- setting a Nysa Euroregion record for forearm passing
- activities and competitions for the public promoting active ways of spending free time
- sports contests
- a games and activities area for children.
