The high temperatures persisting for the past few days have caused the forest litter to dry out almost completely. This is a common phenomenon at this time of year; nevertheless, employees of the State Forests are constantly monitoring the moisture levels of the forest floor. There are 34 forecasting units operating throughout the country.

Fire risk is determined using a multi-level scale. In the forests of Nadleśnictwo Bolesławiec, as well as throughout Lower Silesia, the highest fire-risk level is in effect, defined as catastrophic risk. If no rain falls in the coming days, the Regional Directorate of the State Forests will introduce a ban on entering the forests.
