70 years ago, on August 1, 1944, the “W” hour came in Warsaw. The Warsaw Uprising began—one of the most important events in the history of 20th-century Poland. Ahead of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Uprising, a film assembled from original footage of the Warsaw Uprising is being released in cinemas. The film was produced by the Warsaw Uprising Museum. BOK-MCC invites you from May 9 to premiere screenings at Forum cinema!

“Warsaw Uprising” is the first feature film in the world assembled entirely from documentary materials, telling the story of the titular event through the experiences of two young reporters who witnessed the fighting during the Uprising. The film uses authentic newsreel footage from August 1944. Drawing on modern technology for the colorization and reconstruction of audiovisual materials and involving a group of distinguished creators, its authors produced a project without an equivalent anywhere in the world.
