Actors from the Kraków theatre prepared three performances for children and young people. These were Juliusz Słowacki’s drama “Balladyna”; the emotion-filled, exotic and youthful “In Desert and Wilderness”; and a sea voyage full of adventures, “The Adventures of Pirate Karmazyn”. The performances took place in early April, in the morning hours specially adapted for schools.

Teatr Współczesny in Kraków is a private theatre founded by Bartosz Jarzymowski, an actor, director and theatre manager. It employs Kraków-based actors, creators and artists who are guided in their work by the idea of innovative stage solutions, breaking with traditional notions of art. The theatre works with young graduates of theatre schools and, for individual projects, with actors known from theatre, film and television.

Teatr Współczesny in Kraków mainly stages plays based on texts by young Polish playwrights. It tirelessly strives to show audiences surprising aspects of the contemporary world. It often stages its performances in unusual non-theatrical spaces, drawing both on the achievements of the latest technology and on the rich tradition of European theatre.
