The new version of “Pinocchio” is a classic 2D animated film directed by Enzo D’Alo, filled with beautiful symphonic music by Lucio Dalla and the intense colours of drawings by Lorenzo Mattotti. It is a film suitable even for young children.
The poor carpenter Geppetto feels lonely and longs for companionship. One day, he finds an unusual piece of wood and decides to carve a wooden puppet. When the puppet is ready, Geppetto gives him a name: Pinocchio. Then, as if touched by a magic wand, the puppet comes to life. It turns out that Geppetto will not have an easy life with him. The little puppet loves playing pranks and getting into mischief above all else, and he is constantly landing in trouble.
The film was directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Enzo D'Alo, who collaborated with the renowned illustrator Lorenzo Mattotti. Work on the film lasted four years, and one of its strengths is that the creators preserved many of the original dialogues.
