On 26 March 2014, a session of the Bolesławiec City Council was held in the building of the District Court in Bolesławiec. The meeting took place in the newly restored courtroom no. 21, which has regained its former splendour. The courtroom is located in one of the most interesting neo-Gothic buildings in Bolesławiec. The building was erected in 1861–64. Originally, the building housed a secondary school. An assembly hall was located in the western wing—the building’s main ornament.

Today, the building houses the District Court. Courtroom 21 is located in the former assembly hall. Its richly decorated interior has been carefully restored. In the two-storey-high courtroom, visitors can admire busts of prominent figures: Ptolemy, Socrates, Sophocles, Homer, Vitruvius, Copernicus, Schiller, Kant, Goethe and Winckelmann.

For several years, the building has been carefully renovated through the efforts of the District Court. The renovation of the former assembly hall is another stage in the revitalisation of the historic building.
