The incident occurred in May 2013. Comments appeared below an article about the I General Secondary School published on the Bolec.Info portal. In the comments, someone anonymously defending the school accused Krzysztof Gwizdała, publisher of the Istotne.pl portal, of fraud and blackmailing schools.
A prosecutor took up the case. He established that the IP address from which the entries were published was assigned to the computer belonging to the Żak couple. Katarzyna Żak is a deputy headmistress at the I General Secondary School. Both were questioned by the prosecutor’s office. They did not confirm that they had written the defamatory statements.
In the same proceedings, the prosecutor established the identity of the anonymous author of another entry. It turned out to be… Artur Chruścicki, a graduate of the I General Secondary School from the previous year. In this case, however, the young man admitted to publishing it.
“I did not expect the Żak name—belonging, after all, to people I know—to emerge in a case concerning defamation. I was saddened. The deputy headmistress’s husband declared in writing that the whole matter should be discussed. So now I am waiting for their next move,” says Krzysztof Gwizdała, head of the Istotne.pl portal.
We will return to this matter.
