The Wrzosowa Kraina Cup Volleyball Tournament is now behind us. The competition was held on Saturday, 15 March, in the primary school gymnasium in Bożejowice. The event provided an opportunity to build closer relationships between the residents of municipalities that cooperate within the Wrzosowa Kraina Local Action Group Association.

The tournament was opened by the Chairperson of the Bolesławiec Municipality Council, Bogusław Uziej, Bolesławiec Municipality Head Andrzej Dutkowski, and Wrzosowa Kraina LAG President Barbara Sulma. Two experienced referees supervised the proper course of the competition: Paulina Pełech and Kamil Jaz.

The team from the Municipality of Lubin proved the best. Representatives of the Municipality of Bolesławiec won second place. The volleyball players from Chojnów finished third. Piotr Kozłowski was named the best server. Adam Pietrzak was the best receiver, Maciej Jaroni the best attacker, and Paweł Grocholski the best setter. Maciej Jaroni was named the tournament’s best player (all were members of the winning team).

The prizes—balls, cups and statuettes—were presented to the best players and teams by Bogusław Uziej, Andrzej Dutkowski and Barbara Sulma. The tournament was enhanced by performances from young dancers from the primary school in Kraśnik Dolny, taught by Iwona Skoblińska.

The project was co-financed by the European Union (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development—Europe investing in rural areas) under the measure “Implementation of local development strategies—small project”.
