Deputy Prime Minister Janusz Piechociński visited Bolesławiec on Saturday, 15 March. The PSL politician came on a working visit to meet with members and supporters of the party from the city and Bolesławiec County. PSL activists from neighboring local governments were also present. The meeting took place at Restauracja Słoneczna. It was closed to the public. Only party members and its closest supporters took part.
Deputy Prime Minister Piechociński was welcomed by Marian Haniszewski, President of the District Board of the Polish People’s Party in Bolesławiec. During the meeting, Janusz Piechociński spoke, among other things, about Poland’s and Europe’s economic problems, the situation in Ukraine, the canonization of John Paul II, economic relations with Russia and the embargo on pork. The politician also spoke about the upcoming elections to the European Parliament and local governments, as well as voters’ responsibility for the functioning of Poland within the European Union.
Janusz Piechociński (born 15 March 1960 in Studzianki) is a Polish politician and member of the Sejm during its 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th terms. Since 17 November 2012, he has been President of the Polish People’s Party. Since 6 December 2012, he has been Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy.
