We wrote about Dance Vision Ambasador II LO as early as November last year. The group has already performed several times: it took part in a flash mob at Bolesławiec City Center, performed during the City Days (“Antymusical – Music & Light”), and appeared during the Bolesławiec Ceramics Festival.
They practise in the assembly hall of Janusz Korczak II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec. Some of them are students at the school. The “two’s” ambassadors are currently preparing, among other things, for the prestigious Polish Hip-Hop Championships, which will take place in Lublin at the end of March. “We are perfecting the routine that we will present at the championships,” says Damian Cichewicz. “We keep making modifications because some of its elements have become a little boring even for us. We are constantly trying to add something new.”
Two new dancers have joined the group: Bożena Wawak and Patrycja Panikowska. Bożena saw the group perform at the Old Theatre, while Patrycja had wanted to dance in a group for a long time. “Both of them are doing great,” says Ivo Pomorski, choreographer, modern dance trainer and group mentor.
Ivo Pomorski lived and danced in the United Kingdom and the United States. He ran a dance school in Gdańsk, where he trained 37-time Polish champions and four-time world champions in new-style hip-hop. He currently trains dancers in Wrocław and at Bolesławiec’s II LO. “Dance Vision Ambasador II LO is a group that has only just been formed, but it continues the traditions of my previous groups,” the choreographer stresses. “I see tremendous enthusiasm and determination in the eyes of these young people to live up to expectations.
“The Polish Championships and the qualifiers for the World Championships are a leap into the deep end. We probably will not go to the World Championships, but I can guarantee that we will present ourselves very strongly and represent both II LO and Bolesławiec with dignity,” Pomorski continues. “It is a group that dances brilliantly and is excellent theatrically. It has every predisposition to become a championship-winning formation in the future.”
