It started innocently. At the end of last year, Jakub fell ill. Initially, all the symptoms pointed to the flu. At the beginning of the year, in addition to weakness and fever, he developed swollen lymph nodes and a rash. This time, Jakub visited the hospital. However, it was only on January 16, after blood tests had been carried out, that the boy heard the diagnosis: lymphocytic leukemia. Kuba is currently staying at a clinic in Wrocław. There, in sterile conditions, he is undergoing further tests.
“Our son is very brave,” says Mariusz Legieżyński. “Perhaps even braver than we are. He is the one who tells us that everything will be all right and that we must be strong. There is still a long road ahead of us, but we are optimistic. We thank everyone who helps us, as well as those who decide to donate 1%,” his father adds.
Kuba’s family—his parents, sister and brother—are currently raising funds for treatment and to create suitable conditions for the sick boy when Jakub returns home. Anyone who also wants to help the boy can do so by donating 1% of their income tax for his benefit. All they need to do is enter the KRS number of the Stowarzyszenie Ziemia Bolesławiecka in their tax return: 0000163366. Let us remember to enter JAKUB LEGIEŻYŃSKI in the “Specific purpose 1%” field.
We are keeping our fingers crossed for Kuba and wish him a speedy recovery.
