Last year, we reported that during the June session of the City Council, secretary Jerzy Zieliński explained to the councilors that, for a Voivodeship Road Traffic Center to be established in Bolesławiec, a resolution by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Assembly was required. It was adopted in November. It states: “Bolesławiec, Głogów and Świdnica are designated as cities [...] in which the state examination for driving licences in categories AM, A1, A2, A, B1 and B may be conducted.”

Under a resolution adopted in May last year, the Bolesławiec City Council approved leasing the property on Lubańska Street to the WORD—for 10 years, without a tender. The property covers just under one hectare. The annual lease cost is PLN 30,000.

We have established that the WORD has already signed a lease agreement with the city authorities for the site on Lubańska Street. In the near future, the authorities of the Jelenia Góra center also intend to purchase a detached house located near the site. “There will be an examination room, a customer service office and a waiting room there,” says Paweł Broniszewski, supervising examiner at the Voivodeship Road Traffic Center. “Everything that should be found in an examination center.”

The Bolesławiec WORD will then still need an Internet connection. If this can be arranged within a week or two, then, according to Broniszewski, the center should begin operating by the end of February this year at the latest.
