Przemysław Filipowicz is a directing student at the Faculty of Radio and Television of the University of Silesia and a film studies graduate of Jagiellonian University. He has won numerous awards at film festivals. His best-known film is the documentary “Mr. Bread.”
The young director collaborated with BOK-MCC, and premieres of his first films were held at Forum cinema. The producer of Filipowicz’s first films—“Platform b,” “The End of the Wall” (2004), and “Fikszyn” (2005)—was Krzysztof Gwizdała (Boleslawiec.org, now Istotne.pl).
Two premiere screenings of the film “Dog,” made in the summer of 2013 in the area around Bolesławiec, will take place on January 31 at the new Orzeł cinema. The first screening will begin at 6:00 p.m., and the next at 8:00 p.m.
The screening will also feature two films by the winner of the 3rd OFF Cinema Festival in Bolesławiec in 2007, Filip Rudnicki—“Poverty” and “Hard as Stalin.” Before the premiere of “Dog,” Filipowicz’s additional four-minute student film “A Trial of Strength” will be shown.
The film “Dog” (drama, 15 minutes) tells the story of Justyna and Łukasz, who leave for the countryside for a summer weekend. Their journey is interrupted when, in the middle of a forest, the protagonists hit a dog with their car. The unplanned stop disrupts their vacation plans.
Admission to the event is by invitation. Invitations can be collected from the Forum cinema box office starting Monday, January 27.
