On November 27, the premiere of the Christmas comedy “Gingerbread Heart,” directed by Piotr Wereśniak, a well-known director and screenwriter (the excellent “Kiler”), was held in Warsaw. It is worth emphasizing that the filmmaker is from Lower Silesia and comes from Ząbkowice Śląskie.
This is not the only Lower Silesian connection associated with the film, either. “Gingerbread Heart” also features… ceramics from Bolesławiec, specially designed for the film. Its creator is designer Paulina Stefańczyk, owner of the company Lady Blue. – When I saw my ceramics on the big screen, I was genuinely very pleasantly surprised. Although I had previously been on a film set and could observe the work of the actors, director and entire crew up close, the experience in the cinema was completely different. On the set, I focused on the details and the process of creating the scenes, whereas in the cinema everything came together into one emotional whole – says the woman from Bolesławiec.
She adds: – This effect was achieved thanks to the excellent film crew, actors, director Piotr Wereśniak, production designer Joanna Białousz, and the producers from Anderegande Studio, Katarzyna Staszczyk and Krzysztof Łączak. I was drawn to the actors’ styling, which conveyed the characters’ personalities very well. The costumes were prepared by Małgorzata Ewa Bednarek-Chumakou.
And she emphasizes:
In the cinema, the ceramics took on additional meaning and became part of the festive atmosphere. The main decoration is cobalt blue, a combination with Bolesławiec tradition, while the heart refers to the film’s title and to me because… my heart beats blue!
Paulina Stefańczyk: – On the set, and later in several scenes, my cups decorated with little hearts also appeared.
P. Wereśniak’s film features, among others, Olga Bołądź, Katarzyna Żak, Barbara Kurdej-Szatan, Piotr Głowacki, Małgorzata Socha and Mikołaj Roznerski. The film tells the story of the adventures of two families preparing for Christmas. It is a warm family story.
“Gingerbread Heart” will be shown at the Bolesławiec cinema from December 12. However, you can already purchase ceramics featuring the unique pattern from the film.
