The incident occurred at around 5:30 p.m. at 26b Jana Pawła II Street. A garbage container caught fire. Three fire service units arrived at the scene. Firefighters extinguished the fire and ventilated the building. According to residents, the fire may have been caused by a cigarette butt thrown into the chute by someone.
Residents also told us that people often smoke cigarettes in the stairwell and throw cigarette butts into the chutes. This time, fortunately, no one was hurt. It is good that the incident was not more serious, because someone had blocked the fire access road with a car.
