The incident occurred after 1:30 p.m. An explosion occurred at 12 Prusa Street in Bolesławiec as a woman was entering the premises. It is not yet known exactly what happened, because the premises had no gas connection. The oil-fired heater may have malfunctioned.

As a result of the explosion, the woman’s clothing caught fire. While burning, she ran upstairs, where an older man helped her and extinguished the flames. Unfortunately, he was injured in the process. The woman suffered burns to her abdomen and legs.

According to preliminary information, there was a problem transporting the injured person to hospital. For half an hour, firefighters were unable to contact the emergency medical service about sending a second ambulance. In the end, they transported the injured person to hospital themselves.

Seven people were evacuated from the tenement building.
