The BU and Skorup concert will begin with a screening of music videos and previously unpublished footage from the “Przestań” music video by Pokahontaz. DJ Hopbeat will perform before the main concert. At around 7:00 p.m., the evening’s stars, Skorup and BU, will take the stage.
Both musicians represent the Mikołów-based MaxFloRec artistic and publishing agency, headed by Polish hip-hop legend Rahim (Paktofonika, Pokahontaz). BU’s latest, second solo album, titled “Byk,” was released in summer 2013. Skorup’s solo album (already his fourth consecutive record), “Piękna pogoda,” was released in November 2013.
Skorup is a rapper and music producer, and a member of the groups Autonomia, Eskapada, Wspólny Mianownik and ZiombelKru. He began his career in 2004, releasing his first solo album, “Pieśń Wajdeloty,” two years later. In 2010, he joined MaxFloRec. After releasing his third album, “Etos kowboja,” he entered a period of intensive work, during which he prepared several music videos and made guest appearances on other artists’ recordings. The most interesting video promoting the third album is “Solidarność / Z bandą.” Created by Drop Free, the video received a nomination for the Grand Prix at the Yach Festival. The first half of 2012 was also a period of intensive work on the Kosmos project, created by Metrowy, Bu and Ruffijok.
BU, also known as Bunio or Bucz, is a rapper who has been active on the Polish music scene for over 15 years, associated with the projects Płonący Squaw, 2T, Międzyosiedlowy Tandem and, of course, 3oda Kru (alongside Grubson, Metrowy, Jot and BU). The culmination of 3oda Kru’s work includes tracks on the compilations “Podaj dalej,” “Diss na rząd,” GrubSon’s “O.R.S.” and “Grube jointy,” and above all “Parchastyczny Mikstejp.” The eclectic group quickly wins the affection of hip-hop and reggae fans throughout Poland, while attendance and energy at its concerts exceed all expectations.
Tickets priced at 20 złoty are available at the Forum cinema box office or on the day of the event at CIK Orzeł.
