The Bolesławiec Volleyball Association team played with an incomplete squad. Four players from the starting lineup were absent due to injuries and unforeseen circumstances, and only eight BTS players travelled to the match.

“We played with a very experimental lineup and won. Every victory should be enjoyed,” says Jacek Łuczkowski, president of the Bolesławiec Volleyball Association.

On 1 February, BTS will begin a two-match series against the fourth-placed team in Group B. The first match will be played away. On 8 February, both teams will play the return match in Bolesławiec. “I hope that by then we will already play with a full squad and show our home crowd what we are capable of,” adds Jacek Łuczkowski.

Commentary from the BTS coach:

We travelled to this match intending to win 3:0. We wanted not to lose a single set. Unfortunately, it did not work out. The team’s performance fluctuated from set to set. We won the first set fairly comfortably, which carried over into the result of the next one.

The same happened in the third set; once again, we dictated the conditions on the court. Then we were almost certain that the fourth set would end the match, but once again, complacency crept into our ranks. Fortunately, in the fifth set our team once again showed its class. We won that set despite the opponent putting up strong resistance.
