The symbol of the January 6 holiday is the story described in the Gospel of Matthew, according to which the Magi from the East came to Bethlehem to pay homage to Jesus.
In Bolesławiec, the processions set out from three parishes: Our Lady of Perpetual Help (at Zamkowy Square), the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas (on Kościelna Street), and Saints Cyril and Methodius (on Krótka Street).
All the groups met at Piłsudski Square next to BOK-MCC and walked to the Market Square. There, they sang Christmas carols together. At the end, pea soup was shared. This year's celebration attracted many residents of Bolesławiec—between 1,500 and 2,000 people—and nearly one-fifth of the Market Square was full.
