A Christmas market is taking place in the Market Square, and a live nativity scene is already attracting the youngest residents of Bolesławiec and their parents. The winning Christmas wishes from the competition organized by our portal and BOK-MCC have been displayed on the screen near Piłsudskiego Square.
The main attractions of the Bolesławiec Star of Kindness will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a Christmas concert. Carols will be performed by the Gminny Zespół Pieśni i Tańca „Jutrzenka,” the „Poeticon” ensemble and participants of the BOK-MCC vocal workshops. The Miejska Orkiestra Dęta „Bolesławiec” will also perform a Christmas repertoire.
At 6:00 p.m., children will be treated to the fairy-tale outdoor performance „Elves in Trouble,” prepared by Teatr AVATAR. It tells the story of three sweet, though somewhat clumsy, elves of Santa Claus who must save Christmas.
Immediately after the performance, at 6:30 p.m., Mayor Piotr Roman will meet with the residents of Bolesławiec. It will be a time to exchange good wishes and share the Christmas wafer. Scouts will bring the residents the Bethlehem Light of Peace. The competition for the Christmas Nativity Scene will be decided.
The celebrations will conclude with a carol concert in folk-rock arrangements. The Turnioki band will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help near Castle Square. These energetic Highlander arrangements of well-known carols and pastorales will put everyone in a wonderful holiday atmosphere. Admission to the concert is by invitation only; all invitations have already been distributed.
