Wojciech Kasprzyk wrote on Facebook today: “A moment ago, I resigned my membership in Civic Platform in Bolesławiec. I will be an unaffiliated councillor.” Asked by us about the reasons for his decision, he replied that his party colleagues upset him during today’s City Council session.
Czy odejście Kasprzyka osłabi lokalną PO?
“We were supposed to approve the city budget,” says Kasprzyk. “In my opinion, it is a good one. Civic Platform councillors first wanted to vote against it, then abstained. I asked them why they had made that decision without consulting anyone. I only heard that it was the decision of the ‘leadership’. And that if I did not vote as the party did, I would be expelled,” the councillor explains.
Kasprzyk, incidentally a candidate of Lower Silesian Civic Platform for the European Parliament in 2009 (he received 7,210 votes in the entire constituency), has a poor assessment of the local party’s activities. “They were going to expel me over a joke about a Black person,” the councillor recalls the story of a racist joke he posted on Facebook. “Today I am leaving on my own. I’m ashamed that I worked with them. The Bolesławiec party is a hermetic, ossified organisation, poorly managed by Dariusz Kwaśniewski,” Kasprzyk added.
“I understand Wojtek Kasprzyk’s decision to resign. For some time, there has been no cooperation between us and Wojtek. Wojtek’s opinions of Civic Platform became critical after he became an employee of one of the municipal companies. It is not difficult to guess the reasons for this state of affairs. I do not wish to comment on Wojtek’s opinions about me; I leave that to the readers. I wish him success in his social, political and all other endeavours,” Dariusz Kwaśniewski replies.
