A nativity scene with live animals will be set up in Bolesławiec Market Square and is hugely popular with both children and adults. The nativity scene can be visited until December 22.
The Friday gathering will begin with a Christmas concert featuring: the Gminny Zespół Pieśni i Tańca „Jutrzenka” and BOK-MCC workshops; the „Poeticon” group, led by Anna Frąckiewicz for seven years; participants of Barbara Lendzian’s vocal workshop; and the song studio led by Agata Pińczuk-Burdzy. The Miejska Orkiestra Dęta „Bolesławiec”, known from city ceremonies, will also perform a Christmas repertoire.
Children will be treated to the fairy-tale outdoor performance „Elfy w tarapatach”, prepared by Teatr AVATAR. It is the story of three sweet, though somewhat clumsy, elves of Santa Claus who must save Christmas.
As usual, there will be a Christmas meeting between residents and Piotr Roman. It will be a time to exchange greetings and share the Christmas wafer. Scouts will deliver the Bethlehem Light to residents. The competition for the best Christmas nativity scene will be decided.
The joint celebrations will end with a carol concert in folk-rock arrangements. The Turnioki band will perform. These energetic, highlander-style arrangements of well-known carols and pastorales will create a fantastic holiday atmosphere.
The concert will take place at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on plac Zamkowy. Admission is by invitation only; invitations can be obtained in exchange for supporting a collection of cleaning products for the Dom Dziecka in Bolesławiec.
Additionally, a Christmas fair will be held during the event in the Market Square. Original baubles from Vitbis Polska can be purchased. A Polish Red Cross blood donation drive will take place on Piłsudski Square, in front of BOK-MCC.
The detailed event programme is available on the posters and on the BOK-MCC website.
