Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej Spółka z o.o. in Bolesławiec conducted an extensive information and promotional campaign for hot water from the network in 2013. Connecting to the network brings clear benefits.
Many building managers in Poland decided to eliminate old, often dangerous gas water heaters and install central domestic hot-water systems in their buildings.
The system is very safe and requires no additional activities, such as inspections, repairs or maintenance of chimney flues. Year-round, continuous operation of the heat source, supervised by the 24-hour District Heating Emergency Service, guarantees uninterrupted supplies.
The water-heating process takes place away from apartments, while water heaters disappear from bathrooms—along with the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, explosion or electric shock.
A dozen or so meetings with interested residents were held at the Bolesławiec ZEC headquarters. The company’s president, Wiesław Ogrodnik, explained in detail the investment, its costs and operating costs.
Although residents did not decide to take advantage of the promotional connection offer, the campaign brought another benefit. Interest in heat from ZEC grew enormously.
This year, the following customers were connected to the network: the “Dino” Market, the swimming pool on Zgorzelecka Street, the buildings of Kegger in the WSSE, the Music School, a residential building on Jezierskiego Street, a commercial and service facility on Garncarska Street, the “Orka” swimming pool, the State Archives on Bankowa Street, a single-family home on Warszawska Street, and a vehicle service station on Tysiąclecia Avenue.
In 2014, ZEC plans to connect the following customers: the “Dom” Housing Cooperative on Grunwaldzka Street, the Homeowners’ Association at 1–2 Śniadeckich Street, a municipal building on Staroszkolna Street, the headquarters of the District Office on Armii Krajowej Street, the PKS building, the Mechanical Schools Complex, a residential building on Warszawska Street, and a service building on Tysiąclecia Avenue.
Talks are under way concerning the connection of the residential building at 66 Warszawska Street and a hall under construction in the industrial zone. The following connections are planned for 2015: a single-family housing estate within the area of Kopernika and Konradowska Streets (more than 30 buildings), the TBS building on Gdańska Street, a residential building on Gdańska Street, a residential building on Śluzowa Street, and a residential building on Lubańska Street.
Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej Spółka z o.o. in Bolesławiec is also offering a new product. Customers who receive heat throughout the year will also be supplied with cooling (chilled water for air-conditioning). The offer is aimed at companies operating in the economic zone.
