The children welcomed the equipment with joy. Their caregivers were less pleased. Residents of Starzyńskiego Street complain that there is too little equipment in the area of this street. As a point of reference for their complaints, the residents mention the playground on Łukasiewicza Street. Some say that the new chain swings are dangerous for children because it is easy to fall out of them. However, as Agnieszka Geront, the Spokesperson for the City Office, assures, the equipment has approvals and safety certificates.
The new mini playgrounds include slides and various types of swings. In addition to the area around Starzyńskiego Street, they were installed in squares adjacent to Brzozowa, Cieszkowskiego, Dzieci Wrześni, Garncarska, Gdańska, Miodowa, Sierpnia '80 and Śluzowa streets. The equipment looks durable and is aesthetically made. Its production and installation cost the city PLN 27,000. The money came from funds allocated to counteracting alcoholism.
