We have witnessed a very exciting and evenly matched game. The Bolesławiec Volleyball Association team faced KKS Ren But Złotoryja away. Bolesławiec defeated their opponents 3–1 (25:20, 26:24, 21:25, 25:21).
– We played really good volleyball – comments Tomasz Włoszczyński, captain of our volleyball team. – Our opponents served very powerfully, but once again we showed character. Morale was very high from the beginning. Everyone was determined to win; there was not a single voice of doubt. On behalf of the team, I would like to thank the fans for their tremendous support. What happened in the stands exceeded our wildest expectations.
– We won the first two sets, the first relatively comfortably. In the second, we were constantly chasing our opponents, and we managed to catch them – says Krzysztof Mosiądz, coach of the Bolesławiec team and vice-president of BTS. – We relaxed in the third set and lost it, but in the fourth we were better again. Next week we play against the team from Góra, and I hope we can maintain this winning streak.
– The match was incredible – says Dariusz Kwaśniewski, a member of the Bolesławiec County Board. – I reported on the course of the match live on my Facebook profile. The fans’ reaction was incredible as well. We all felt as if we were playing at home. We dominated the hall.
The County supports volleyball. League matches are held in the gymnasium of Bolesławiec’s General and Vocational Schools Complex (ul. Komuny Paryskiej). Our volleyball players train at ZSOiZ and at the Electronic Schools Complex. – We have always dreamed of having a volleyball team – admits Dariusz Kwaśniewski. – BTS asked the County for support, and we provided everything we could: two training halls and hours for a coach employed at MOS [Międzyszkolnym Ośrodku Sportowym będącym w strukturach Powiatowego Centrum Edukacji i Kształcenia Kadr – przyp. „ii”], which allows the club to use both halls free of charge. We also plan to purchase equipment and provide BTS with financial support. I am pleased that so many people come to the volleyball matches. This means there is demand for this sport here.
– The club was created by several enthusiasts. We entered the team in the fourth league, but as a result of the reorganization of the league competitions, we are playing in the third – says Jacek Łuczkowski, president of the Bolesławiec Volleyball Association. – Previously, we thought that finishing mid-table in the fourth league would be the height of our ambitions. Meanwhile, the next matches will be crucial – perhaps we will even manage to gain promotion to the second league. Once again, I appeal to everyone who would like to support our club. These players are showing that it is worth doing so.
After defeating the team from Złotoryja, the Bolesławiec team moved into second place in the table. Next Saturday, our volleyball players will face the team from Góra.
