The Bolesławiec City Council adopted a draft resolution on establishing the title “Meritorious for the City of Bolesławiec” and determining the design, rules and procedure for awarding and wearing the Badge of Merit for the City of Bolesławiec.
The draft resolution requires an opinion from the minister responsible for public administration and the consent of the President of the Republic of Poland. After obtaining the required opinion and consent, the Bolesławiec City Council will adopt the relevant resolution.
The title “Meritorious for the City of Bolesławiec” is established to honor people who have rendered outstanding service to the city. It is conferred by the Bolesławiec City Council by way of a resolution. The title expresses special distinction and recognition for outstanding contributions to the development of the city of Bolesławiec. The title may be awarded to city residents as well as people who do not live in Bolesławiec.
The title may be conferred on natural persons, legal persons and organizational units without legal personality for: business, social, cultural and sporting activities; artistic and scientific work; other achievements benefiting the city of Bolesławiec.
The title may not be conferred on members of the bodies of the Bolesławiec Municipal Gmina while they are serving their terms of office.
An application for the title may be submitted by: the Chairperson of the Bolesławiec City Council; the Mayor of Bolesławiec; standing committees of the Bolesławiec City Council; a group of at least five councillors; a group of at least 50 natural persons; a legal person or an organizational unit without legal personality based in the city of Bolesławiec.
