The Polish Championships in Classic Distance Orienteering, Sprint Relay and Night Orienteering are now behind us. The competitions were held from 27 to 29 September near Pruchnik (Podkarpackie Voivodeship). In the night race, which opened the championships, the best in the Women 20 category was UKS Tukan Iwiny representative Małgorzata Szeliga, for whom this was the third gold medal at the national championships in her career. Marcin Wieczorek (M16) took an excellent seventh place, while Angelika Haniszewska finished ninth.

In the sprint relays, Angelika Haniszewska and Marcin Wieczorek took fourth place in the elite category, while the Małgorzata Szeliga and Wojciech Pachnik duo finished eighth.

Meanwhile, in the classic distance race—held on very difficult terrain—Angelika Haniszewska won the bronze medal (the fourth Polish Championship medal of this athlete’s career), narrowly finishing behind Maja Morawska from Gdynia and Angelika Maciejewska, the current two-time European champion. Małgorzata Szeliga came fifth.

The coach of UKS Tukan Iwiny is Dariusz Pachnik. The Istotne.pl editorial team congratulates our runners and keeps its fingers crossed for their next competitions.
