Enrollment is currently underway for the UNIKIDS Children’s University, which will officially launch on October 27. During the very first lectures, Poland’s youngest students will meet, among others, Judge Anna Maria Wesołowska, known, for example, from the TVN program. And this is only the beginning of the attractions awaiting the young scientists.

Our students will also attend lectures on geography, physics and archaeology, as well as workshops in anthropology, physics, chemistry, architecture, nature, art history and robotics.

Interactive learning combined with fun is the recipe for the success of the UNIKIDS Children’s University, which now operates in 25 Polish cities. The young scientists from Bolesławiec will learn alongside a qualified faculty of professors and doctoral students from Poland’s largest universities. The youngest students can be six years old, and the oldest 13.

Children’s universities are extremely popular around the world. The first university of this kind was established in Germany in 2002; in Poland, the number of UNIKIDS Children’s University centers has quadrupled in just the last four years. This shows how much interest this form of education for young scientists attracts among children and their parents.

From an early age, children are characterized by enormous curiosity and take an interest in many subjects and fascinating facts. They want to learn and gain knowledge and new information, but in a way that is understandable and interesting to them. That is why teaching a six-, eight- or ten-year-old requires a different approach than relying solely on a school textbook, which unfortunately very often discourages children from learning. At the Children’s University, students can experience learning firsthand. During paleontology classes, they will have the opportunity to touch real dinosaur fossils; in astronomy workshops, they will observe the stars in a real planetarium; and with a small shovel and spatula, they will go on archaeological excavations.

How can you become a UNIKIDS student?

Any child aged 6 to 13 can become a student. There are no entrance exams or qualification interviews. Admission depends solely on the candidate’s desire for comprehensive development, confirmed by submitting an application.

Registration takes place via the website www.unikids.pl, where all the necessary information can be found. Simply select the city of Bolesławiec, then the “Application Form” tab, and pay the semester fee. Admission is decided on a first-come, first-served basis. UNIKIDS Children’s University classes are held on Saturdays or Sundays.

The initiative has received the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Bolesławiec and the Faculty of Economics, Management and Tourism of the Wrocław University of Economics and Business in Jelenia Góra.
