Tomasz Jasiński and Adrian Popek also had chances to score, but they lacked precision and a little luck. Luck favoured the home side, however. In the 41st minute, BKS goalkeeper Sebastian Łokaj intervened uncertainly. A Chrobry player took advantage of this. The ball, cleared too weakly, landed directly on the head of Zdzisław Wiśniowiecki. The home player accepted the gift and beat the Bolesławiec goalkeeper with a header.

The Bolesławiec player failed to control a cross, as a result of which the ball went over the end line. A minute later, joy broke out among the BKS players. Grzegorz Nowak took advantage of a rather fortunate ball and equalised with a confident shot into the right corner of Chrobry’s goal. From that moment, BKS clearly dominated on the pitch. Unfortunately, the Bolesławiec side could not confirm their advantage with a goal. In the 68th minute, Marek Kumoś played the ball into Chrobry’s penalty area towards Radosław Pietkiewicz, but the latter was narrowly beaten to it by the home goalkeeper. Although BKS had the advantage, Chrobry scored. In the 70th minute, Marcin Sudoł put the home side 2–1 ahead. From then on, BKS desperately tried to equalise. Unfortunately, these attempts produced no desired result. BKS Bolesławiec lost away to Chrobry Nowogrodziec 1–2.

Coaches’ comments

Krzysztof Lechowski, Chrobry Nowogrodziec coach: "A derby match always creates additional emotions. We are very happy with the three points, because only those three points mattered to us. I treated this match like any other, although I was aware that emotions were present and that additional significance was being attached to them. In the next matches, we want to collect enough points to have a peaceful winter as newcomers and calmly prepare for the spring round."

Marcin Ciliński, BKS Bolesławiec coach: "I believe we were the team directing the play, and that hurts the most. We certainly had more chances to score, but sometimes that is how it goes... Today we were missing Marek or Piotr in goal, and the player who stood in goal had had a long break from playing, so we cannot put all the blame on him. We could have prevented these situations. We were a little short of luck, but what can you do? That is sport."
