The competition for the most beautiful farmstead, co-organized by Bolesławiec County and the County Council of Rural Housewives’ Associations, has been decided during the Municipal Harvest Festival in Łaziska. Farms from the municipalities of Warta Bolesławiecka, Osiecznica, Gromadka and Bolesławiec competed for the title of the most beautiful farmstead.
The farmsteads were assessed by a committee consisting of: Olga Burdyna, chairwoman of the County Council of Rural Housewives’ Associations, Bożena Cichorzewska from the Lower Silesian Agricultural Advisory Centre in Bolesławiec, and Renata Czerwińska – head of the County Development and Promotion Office.
The main prize went to Halina Gut from Kruszyn. Joanna Woźniak from Raciborowice Dolne took second place. Dariusz Gudyka from Dobra came third. Fourth place went to Justyna Woś from Kraśnik Dolny, while fifth place went to Alina Zarembecka from Brzeźnik.
Honourable mentions went to the farmsteads of the: Kwaśniak family from Osiecznica, Świerszcz family from Gromadka, Buszt family from Łaziska, Karnaś family and the Solecki family (both from Osiecznica).
“It is gratifying that in our small homeland, in Bolesławiec County, the aesthetic quality of farmsteads is improving,” said County Head Cezary Przybylski during the award ceremony. “The great ingenuity involved in arranging and designing them teaches sensitivity to the beauty of the immediate surroundings.”
