At the range in Camp Bonsteel, soldiers of the PKW KFOR manoeuvre company, under the supervision of U.S. Army instructors, practised their situational shooting skills. The training aimed to improve individual soldiers’ skills in tactics and operational techniques for handling weapons, with particular emphasis on dynamic shooting. U.S. soldiers shared their experience in responding precisely and rapidly with fire to sudden threats. These skills are an important factor influencing safety during patrols and operations in urban areas.
After the instructors demonstrated optimal shooting positions and methods for effectively engaging targets from a relaxed stance with immediate weapon use, the manoeuvre company soldiers carried out firing exercises according to rules used by American soldiers.
The situational shooting conducted with PKW KFOR soldiers by American instructors also provided an opportunity to exchange experience in the field of shooting training conducted in both armies.
