During this year’s event, it is worth picking up a leaflet at the Tourist and Cultural Information Point (at Forum cinema, Piłsudskiego Square) with a plan of interesting stalls and setting out along a trail of exhibitions promoting the artistic achievements of Bolesławiec residents and artists associated with our town.
Four ceramic manufacturers will present themselves at the BOK-MCC Long Gallery: the “Ceramika Artystyczna” Artistic Handicraft Cooperative, “Bolesławiec” Ceramic Works Ltd., the “Manufaktura” Stoneware Vessel Factory, Smoleński & Zwierz General Partnership, and CERGOR Ceramic Works Kazimierz Gorczyński in Nowogrodziec. They will present “New Designs in Bolesławiec Ceramics.” The exhibition opening will take place on Saturday, 24 August, at 4:00 p.m.
The BOK-MCC Gallery presents works by Mateusz Grobelny, an artist who runs his own ceramic and sculpture studio at BOK-MCC. “Structures of the Body” is an exhibition of figurative ceramic sculptures made using plaster molds and fired in various kiln designs. During the celebration, the artist can be met in the Market Square while building the outdoor kiln “Four Sides of Fire.”
In the Market Square, at the Gallery Under the Dome, built specially for the post-symposium exhibition, participants in the 49th International Ceramic and Sculpture Symposium in Bolesławiec will present their works. As part of the symposium, 16 artists from around the world—Mexico, the USA, Austria, France, Belarus, Ukraine, Italy, Spain and Poland—worked for four weeks in June at three ceramic manufacturers in Bolesławiec. The exhibition opening will take place on Friday, 23 August, at 8:00 p.m.
At the Museum of Ceramics, City History Department, Kutuzowa Street, a temporary exhibition of ceramic sculpture, “Garden” by Krystyna Gay-Kutschenreiter, and the photography exhibition “Photographic Impressions” by Janusz Moniatowicz will be held. On Saturday, 24 August, at 7:00 p.m., the artists will meet with visitors. The permanent exhibitions include, among others, “Bolesławiec Ceramic and Sculpture Symposia.”
Meanwhile, the Ceramics Department of the Museum of Ceramics at Mickiewicza Street presents the exhibition “Historical and Contemporary Bolesławiec Ceramics”—objects created from the 13th century through the 21st century.
In the Market Square, near the entrance to the Wedding Palace, Marek Parcej will present a ceramic sculpture whose central theme is the face and its various expressions.
